The team here at Celestia Technologies Group (UK) Ltd have embarked on a challenging programme to design innovative technologies for High Throughput Satellite communication system. Part of this includes the well-publicised large contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop a fully electronic scanning ground station, capable of tracking and communicating simultaneously with multi satellites. A broad range of technical domains are being worked on including Antenna, RF, Signal Processing, Beamforming, Digital Design and Real-time Software.

Role & Responsibilities
In charge of electronic monitoring and control architecture for fully automated antenna systems
Design hardware and firmware solutions for control RF- and antenna- modules: selection, development and programming of MCU, FPGA, processors ADC/DAC, as well as other peripheral devices, using SPI, I2C, UART and CAN interfaces
Produce schematics and PCB routing for designs
Integrate solutions with other sub-systems (RF, analogue and digital discrete devices)
Undertake the characterisation and validation of designs, meeting functional and performance requirements
Develop Visual Studio based GUI in support of MCU based designs
Produce algorithms and simulation tools in Matlab and C/C++
Provide hands-on support to the development of hardware solutions from breadboarding to manufacturing
Ensure full technical compliance and timely delivery in accordance with project plans
Create detailed documentation and perform dissemination of work in line with best practices across the company
Teamwork with other engineers to understand system performance and the implication of designs
Regularly report to the Technical Manager
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
10+ years of experience designing embedded control systems, algorithms and simulation models applicable to RF Design
Proficiency in ARM cortex-M based MCU firmware programming in C
Proficiency in Microcontrollers, Digital Beamforming, DAC and ADC sampling
Proficiency in Matlab, Vivado and/or Quartus, VHDL and Verilog, ModelSim or similar (experience of Autocad would be desirable)
Proficiency in schematics generation and experience in PCB CAD tools (experience in Altium would be desirable)
Good understanding of RF Design
Theoretical knowledge in Digital Communications, Signal Processing, Filter Design, Detection Theory and Multi-Antenna Signal Processing would be desirable
Competent with MS Office tools as well as with Windows and Linux operating systems.
A Masters or PhD degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar
